5. I’d like to make an appointment with him.

He crams a thousand activities into what he calls “just a second.” The busier the better-that’s R.R. ‘s motto. He tries to beat the clock. The alarm buzzes; he jumps up, washes quickly, snatches a piece of toast, gulps down a cup of coffee, and crams for his classes.

He uses these three fleeting minutes to proofread his homework.

Send greeting cards and get-well cards for special occasions.

Sometimes I wonder if R.R. ever tries to slow down his pace. He says that he would like to stop the world and get off but that he doesn’t have time. I don’t know if that is true…only time will tell.

Promptness is important in American business, academic, and social settings.

Wake up wide-eyed at 7 am. Violate an important rule of mom’s the school’s, or of the world’s. people who keep appointments are considered dependable. They are often viewed as unreliable and irresponsible.

Fine executives for tardiness to business meetings. Call off or postpone appointment. Break an appointment. Business etiquette.
