Since I came to Canada, it has been very difficulty to have exercises any more. Because my house is near downtown, there is no play ground near my house. The nearest place for exercising is those bicycle roads along the Bow River. But it still takes me 15 minutes to get there. And there will be little time left for me to exercise. I just curl at home after school is over and read some books. All the days are same. I guess I will become a real penguin reader soon. I remember those good days in which I played with my friends in china. Whenever I went to the playing ground that was right besides the building of my home, I could join one basketball team and enjoyed myself in playing basketball. Because we were all ardent competitor, and we all emerged ourselves in the game. When a person threw in a wonderful ball, the audiences all around the ground wound give them big applause and cheers, and he would of course became the super star of that day. I used to dream to become a star too, but nobody appreciated my poor skill. However I really felt that I was confident and energetic at that time, and I usually played until my sweater was all wet by sweat. Having compared those old days and new days, I feel urge to buy a bicycle, and god really sent me one, for I spent 30 $ buying a second hand bike which was in good condition last Sunday. I was so excited that I couldn’t help myself trying it on. So I risked my bike along the Bow River on Monday. I drove in fastest speed of my capacity, because I eventually found time to release myself from those boring days. I drove so fast that I could hear wind passing me quickly. I was enjoying the beautiful scenery of tall trees and golden fallen leaves when the road in front of me suddenly turned right in almost a right angle. Although I realized what had happened and turned right abruptly, I couldn’t control my bike any more, and it threw me to the ground. My arms and legs were hurt, and I had to curl at home for at least three days to recover.

It’s very inconvenient to live in Calgary without a car. I often get into trouble by just go by buses and C-train.. I have to get out of room one hour earlier everyday, then I must take the right bus to downtown and then I have to walk to the C-train station and wait again until the train came. If the bus come a little earlier or the right train arrive later I will not come to class on time unless I go out of home early enough. Sometimes I need to do shopping to buy some food, I find it very difficult to get to the destination, because one bus usually can arrive directly, I have to transfer one another and finally reach the destination. Every time I go shopping I must bring back a lot of package and they are very have heavy to carry. Especially when I am wait a bus comes every half an hour, I became anxious and feel the packages become heavier and heavier and I usually feel that the people driving in cars are laughing at me—oh, look at that miserable guy standing there. However if I had a car, things will greatly changed, I can throw all these burden onto the back of my car and drive home, maybe I can also enjoy a piece of music during the journey. The worst thing travelling by bus is that sometime you go on the wrong bus but you really don’t know that. once I go on the bus 20 which drive me to the opposite direction, because I never read the destination on the screen of a bus and I think it’s useless for me to do that because in my mind if a bus goes for one direction then the bus goes for the different deriction should go on opposite side of the road, but it’s an exception in our school, buses 20 to both destinations goes in one side of road. And once I go by bus 73, but it didn’t stop at the station near my home. So I have to take one more hour to get back to downtown by C—train. It is very inconvenient for one to know all these transit rules, I always dream that one day I could have a car.

hello,i am a new comer to this new city, but i like this place very much.

first and foremost, i think the people here are very friendly to everyone even to a strenger they never met before. the people here will say hello to you and greet you when they meet you. if you have any problem such as where the building is you want to go or how to work out a hard academic question, they will try their best and be enthusiamto help you.

secondly, i think the environment here in very beautiful and breathtaking. compare to the gray sky and bad smell because of the resease subject from many cars and factory, the sky here is blue, the air here is fresh in that the residents here plant a lot grass and protect the trees well. the grant senery also attracts many birds and small animals, thus put in vigor to the city.

last but not the least, i think there are lots of opportunities here to get a good job. the city of calgary needs a large quantity of workers and technic engineer to build and work for itself. so this gives a big ground to the graduate to show their talent.

for these reasons above i love this new city.
